ARTS UPLIFT THE WORLD OF BEING.
Art has always marked the passages of my life.
In years gone by I captured the external essence of what was in view rather than what was felt about each subject.
My objective was literal. Without intent, my art became abstracted when my life was altered by illness.
Since 2009 when I lost my wonderful husband to cancer, I have been able to emerge from the dark and empty chill of loss. That process became my newly published book , "A Crocus in Winter." Between the pages you will see the meandering yet fulfilling road I took with Paper, Pen and Paint. They were my constant companions, the best listeners, totally open to creative flexibility and transformation. Those creations revealed my inner and outer visions but most of all my heart.
This book shows aspects of my personal healing process. I hope they will be helpful to anyone who experiences loss, of any kind. Creating for me became a tool to cope with and accept my circumstances. As the "artist" in me became more active, I moved through grief to become more present in my own life. Creativity and love saw me through the best and worst of my journey. My hope is that my experience will help yours.
Without a doubt, I am proof of life after death.
